The previous 6 months have been an extremely busy time for Last Mile with the warehousing department in particular seeing an unbelievable boom in the pallet holding. They have welcomed new customers and are currently storing more than 7000 external pallets.
Their HGV department has now moved to their Opus Park site, Stockton-on-Tees allowing them to run the majority of their business under the one roof.
Parking and out base along with the Training Centre still remain at their Haverton Hill site, both being consistent performers to support the whole of the business.
Chris Hardy, Managing Director said:
We have been distinctly investing in internal and external training over the last 6 months in order to keep current and adaptable to deal with the day to day activities and any other opportunities that sit outside our typical operations.
We will continue to review the workforce for skill gaps that need addressing and our polices and processes will be continually reviewed to ensure we maintain standards around compliance and a safe working environment.
Our business strategy for the next 6 months will see a real focus on the consolidation of the current workloads that we have going on. This is immense to ensure that we have full utilisation going on to support the infrastructure and all importantly the commercials.
As they continue their journey, Last Mile hope to see an expansion of their relatively new Training Centre and with a targeted sales and marketing presence, they are aiming for the brand to become strong, both regionally and nationally.
In addition to this, their culture will be to fully support continuous further development around everything operationally and compliance wise to reinforce their infrastructure and the commercials with their sights firmly set on becoming a leading player in the North of England.
