Last Mile Apprentice Sucess story
Matty Caygill celebrates a distinction in his Apprenticeship end-point assessment.
Last Mile in partnership with Optimum Skills are delighted to hear the news of Matty earning a distinction in his Level 2 - Supply Chain Operative Apprenticeship.
Last Mile are passionate about the power of Apprenticeships and are extremely proud to be supporting young people and the next generation of talent.
Last Mile use Apprenticeships to recruit new talent and also to develop the skills of their existing workforce.
Matty joined Last Mile in February 2021 at the age of 22 and got onto his Apprenticeship within weeks of joining us.
He predominantly works in our Opus Park warehouse and has become a valued member of the warehouse team. He has gained so much confidence, works extremely hard and has become very knowledgable of the operation and products within the warehouse.
Matty's tutor, Tina has been invaluable throughout the process and we recently spoke to her about Matty's journey:

Over the past year at Last Mile logistics, I have learned a huge range of new skills I never thought I would learn. From general warehousing work to putting me through my forklift licence. Last Mile have played a crucial part in my progression not only in myself but also helping me through my apprenticeship. I can gladly say now with the help of both Last Mile and Optimum Skills that I have pasted my apprenticeship along with getting a distinction too. All the staff at Optimum Skills have been very helpful and understanding to any questions or problems I have had and all in all I would recommend to anyone looking for help in finding a place to work where you can learn a lot but also have a great time doing it.
