LAST MILE - Logistic Solutions

Last Mile receive Green Carrier Certification as part of its sustainability roadmap!

Last Mile have been invited to take part in a Green Carrier certification programme which is one of many initiatives recently launched to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to below 29 million tons by 2030 and net-zero by 2050.

The certification programme helps identify companies that are contributing to sustainable logistics and encourages more investment in green technologies to reduce carbon output.

As part of the assessment Last Mile were evaluated on whether they had an environmental or sustainability strategy in place, as well as their ability to measure their carbon footprint and share their data. In addition to this, the assessment looked at features of their fleet - from basic technologies to advanced green technologies.

The assessment process results in being awarded one of four levels of certification: 'Pass', 'Good', 'Excellent' and 'Outstanding' and Last Mile are extremely pleased to have received a 'Good' certification.

Last Mile's efforts to date towards a more sustainable future have been recognised by the 'Good' categorisation however they are keen to implement further changes to improve this categorisation and work towards obtaining the 'Outstanding' category.

To obtain this, further investment in green technologies will be needed along with introducing additional features to their fleet.

Chris Hardy, Managing Director added:

This efficiency, sustainability, safety, and reliability certificate indicates the status of where our carbon footprint is currently positioned and has recognised our efforts. It shows that we are a company that can be relied upon however, it also sets the benchmark too of where we strive to be.
Our strategy towards a more sustainable future will be reviewed and we will be making further positive changes in order to help gain the desired 'Outstanding' certification.
